Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) feed voraciously on organic waste and efficiently convert it to protein. They contain high levels of protein and fats, providing a high quality source of alternative protein that can substitute soybean meal and fishmeal used in poultry and aquaculture feed.
They contain high amounts of protein and lipid and can act as excellent substitutes to poor quality aflatoxin contaminated protein and low-grade, low-value fish often found in poultry and aquaculture feed
They consume up to eat up to 4 times their body weight a day, significantly reducing the amount of organic waste and converting it into valuable protein and lipds.
BSF require very little space to grow and breed. This allows us to easily grow them in an ethical and environmentally-friendly manner. They can have a protein yield of 700 tonnes per acre.
They takes 14 to 21 days to reach pre- pupae stage and be ready for harvesting. They also do not rely on fertiliser and weather patterns and can thus provide a steady, high volume supply.
BSF are non-pest, non-pathogenic and do not bite/sting. They are also grown in a well-controlled environment with stringent quality checks.
They have minimal greenhouse gas emissions and help to loop nutrients back into the food system; diverting waste streams.
